Dr. Chaikin graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine in 1966. He served in the U.S. military, including a distinguished tour with the US Army in Vietnam. He founded Belknap Dental Associates in 1972 as the first vertically integrated group dental practice in New Hampshire. Dr. Chaikin is affiliated with many professional organizations, including:
Dr. Chaikin maintains a committed interest in community service. He is a former President of the Seacoast Chapter American Red Cross; a former President and Director of Temple Israel of Portsmouth, NH; a former Director of The Seacoast Repertory Theatre; and currently serves as a Director of the Bow Street Theatre Trust. He is a Life Member of several organizations, including, The One Hundred Club of New Hampshire, American Legion Post 35, Veterans of Foreign Wars, National Rifle Association, Jewish War Veterans. He is currently a Proprietor of the Portsmouth Athenaeum and a member of the Hampton Rod & Gun Club. Married with two daughters and five grand-kids Dr. Chaikin enjoys skiing, golf and hiking.
